The Centre for Development Studies (CDS) (Under the aegis. of Govt. of Kerala & ICSSR, Govt. of India) is a premier social science research institute located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Established in 1971, CDS is renowned for its research in applied economics and development studies. The institute was founded by the eminent economist Professor K. N. Raj and has since been a hub for scholars and researchers interested in the socio-economic development of India and other developing countries. Centre for Development Studies is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, for its academic programs.
